THE RESTOZIO WORKSPACE
Kitchen order tickets that keep service connected.
Connect the order at the counter with the work in the kitchen using dish batches, preparation notes and clear printed tickets.
What a kitchen order ticket does
A kitchen order ticket, often called a KOT, tells the kitchen which dishes need preparation. It serves a different purpose from the customer bill: the kitchen needs the order and its instructions, while the customer needs the complete billing totals.
Restozio supports both within the same order flow. Staff can build the order at the counter or add dishes from a paired Android waiter phone, then create a ticket for the dishes going to the kitchen.
Send new rounds as separate batches
Guests may add dishes after the kitchen has already received the first order. Restozio tracks kitchen tickets in batches, so new additions can get their own ticket rather than making the team rely on a handwritten follow-up.
Preparation notes travel with the order. When another printed copy is needed, a KOT can be reprinted. Keeping the ticket tied to the order helps counter and waiting staff follow the same service.
Choose which items need preparation
Not every billed item needs to appear in the kitchen. The menu editor includes an option to include an item in KOTs, and eligible unsent lines can be included or excluded for an individual order.
An item excluded from the kitchen ticket remains part of the bill. Waiter phones follow the same rule. Dishes already sent to the kitchen have editing restrictions so a later change on the floor cannot silently undo preparation work.
Set up the printer for your kitchen
Use the same configured printer for customer bills and kitchen tickets, or select a separate installed Windows printer for KOTs. Choose the paper and printing settings that match your equipment.
During your demo, ask to see a first ticket, an added round, a preparation note and a reprint. For waiter-phone ordering, also check the local Wi-Fi connection between the phone and the PC. Restozio’s waiter app routes tickets through the PC to the configured kitchen printer.
Common questions
Does a KOT settle the bill?
No. Kitchen tickets communicate preparation work. Bill review, payment recording and settlement remain separate counter actions.
Do I need a kitchen display screen?
The workflow described here uses printed KOTs. You need a compatible printer configured in Windows; it does not require a kitchen display product.
